Ran my very first 5k race today! Now I’m looking for another one to do. I want to make a runners wall and put all my numbered papers up as motivation!
So I was going out to the bars for my friends 21 run last Friday and we had to walk up a pretty steep hill to get there. When we got to the top my friend and her boyfriend were breathing so hard and were like, “this hill sucks!” I felt incredibly fine. No change in breath what so ever. I even was wearing heels! Now I would never gloat or think I’m “better” than someone else but it felt so good noticing the difference between me and them. I mean I use to smoke cigarettes and not be able to walk to class without panting. And sometimes you don’t even notice how much in shape your getting until you compare it with something or someone else. That’s progress. Pure exciting progress.

All much as I hold back tears and hide my emotions at times this is absolutely right.
